Connor Bedard's mom recently gave an interview in which she detailed how crazy life has gotten for the 17-year old phenom after a historic World Junior performance.
Bedard broke a Canadian record for points at the World Juniors, scoring 23 points in 7 games en route to a gold medal. NHL teams are licking their chops at the chance of drafting the North Vancouver-native first overall. Several teams appear to be tanking, even though Gary Bettman denies it.
In her interview, Bedard's mom recalled that going pretty much anywhere in Canada gets him recognized. Gas stations, grocery stores, restaurants...you name it, he's been spotted.
She even said that since the tournament, people have just showed up outside the family home unannounced. Which has to be an odd experience for a 17-year old to receive that sort of attention.
Je reviens d'une semaine à Regina où Connor Bedard et sa famille ont accepté de m'illustrer à quel point le quotidien de toute la garde rapprochée du jeune homme pouvait être fou.
Ici, un extrait impliquant sa mère, Melanie.
