Goaltender Cam Talbot reportedly turned down a contract offer from the Ottawa Senators, and a trade is expected before the March 3rd trade deadline. According to Andy Strickland of Bally Sports - Midwest, Talbot's possible suitors include Las Vegas, Los Angeles, or Buffalo.

At this point, it's safe to call the Talbot trade a disaster for the Senators. In 29 games (26 starts), Talbot has a 12-14-1 record with a 2.90 GAA and a .905 SV%.
Filip Gustavsson - for whom Talbot was traded 1-for-1 - has a 15-8-3 record for Minnesota with a 2.11 GAA and .928 SV% in 27 games (25 starts).
Now that Talbot won't sign, Ottawa's return likely won't be commensurate with what they gave up for him. Tough break for the Sens, who don't feature a ton in the goaltending department.
They are still paying Matt Murray (TOR) $1.5 million through next season and don't have any notable goaltending prospects. GM Pierre Dorion has done a fair job recruiting decent players, but without viable goaltending the Senators won't be a serious playoff team.
That has to be at the top of Dorion's list this summer.
