It seems as though the Carolina Hurricanes are opting for continuity in net as NHL Insider David Pagnotta reports that the Hurricanes and Danish netminder Frederik Andersen are engaged in contract extension talks.

Andersen Back in the Cards

The veteran Andersen has spent the past two years in Carolina after spending time with Toronto and Anaheim.

Andersen sported a 21-11-1 record with a 2.49 Goals Against Average and a .903 Save Percentage last year.

His playoff stats painted a rosier picture with a .927 Save Percentage in nine playoff games.

This move makes it look like the Hurricanes will be running with an Andersen and Pyotr Kotchetkov tandem in net next year, which allows them to move on from talented but injury prone Antti Raanta.
