The Columbus Blue Jackets got the third overall pick at the draft lottery. With this year's exceptionnal draft, they have the opportunity to get a very good player.
Connor Bedard will be chosen first, of course. Everything points to the fact that the Anaheim Ducks will take either Adam Fantili or Matvei Michkov. That leaves Will Smith and Leo Carlsson to the Blue Jackets.
Jarmo Kekalainen, the Blue Jackets GM, opened up about the possibility of trading the third pick.
Offers Aren't Good Enough
During an interview, Kekalainen talked about the offers he received for the pick.
"I've gotten several calls about the third pick, but nothing's been even close. So, it's highly, highly, highly unlikely (to be traded). I'm 99.9% sure that we're not trading that pick."
There you have it! It looks like the Blue Jackets will select a player with their third overall pick.
They'll undoubtedly get a future NHL star with that pick, unless they get an offer they can't refuse.
