Leave it up to the NHL's best player, Connor McDavid, to make a massive rule change proposal during the offseason. He's just laid down a proposal to fix one of the NHL's most pressing issues.

McDavid Tackles Delay of Game

Connor McDavid has just proposed a change to the NHL that could outright end the delay-of-game penalty. This new proposal would see the glass around the rink curve over at the top, preventing pucks from leaving play so easily.

"The glass folding in at the top, keep the pucks in, like a little bit of a bowl." - Connor McDavid

Clearly, McDavid has put some thought into this issue if he's sharing it publicly, so it would do the NHL some good to listen to him.

McDavid Leads Change

As the calls for a change in marketing grow louder, the NHL has a unique opportunity to take advantage of its top stars. By implementing McDavid's rule change, the NHL could finally take full advantage of their top star's marketing potential, and grow the game to a whole new level.

Whether or not Gary Bettman and the NHL choose to listen to McDavid's proposal is unknown, but they should seriously consider it.
