In the midst of a wild day, the NHL community has received some unfortunate news, as beloved goaltender Gilles Gilbert has passed away aged 74.
A three team star

A 25th overall pick by the Minnesota North Stars back in 1969, Gilbert would go on to play 416 games for the North Stars, Boston Bruins and Detroit Red Wings.
Over that time, he would go 192-143-60 with an .872 save percentage, and in that era, he was considered one of the leagues most consistent goaltenders.
A great person
Despite little being known about him since his career ended, Gilbert is regarded as a great person on and off the ice throughout his career, so we send condolences to his family and loved ones.
Rest in Peace Gilles Gilbert.
