Earlier today, the hockey community was shocked by the passing of Rodion Amirov.

He was a drafted by the Maple Leafs in 2020, but never made it to the NHL.
The young player was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2021.
Tavares Shares Emotional Statement
The Maple Leafs' captain John Tavares released a statement on Amirov.
"It's incredibly hard to comprehend the loss of Rodion. His smile and joy for life & hockey was infectious. My teammates & I are grateful for our time spent with him & forever inspired by his courageous fight. Condolences to his loved ones. We'll miss him dearly."
