A recent trade could be indicative of a potential move the Sabres may be pursuing.

Sabres Trade Lyubushkin

Last night, the Sabres brokered a trade with the Anaheim Ducks.

The Sabres moved out Ilya Lyubushkin and his $2.75 million contract for a pick which is a heavily underrated move from the Sabres' GM Kevyn Adams.

Sabres Could Make A Push For Kane

With this move, the Sabres now have over $8 million in cap space which means they have enough money to sign Patrick Kane.

Kane was born in Buffalo and grew up there which gives them even more ties. With the Sabres finally looking like playoff contenders, Kane could be what is able to push them over the edge past playoff contenders and into Stanley Cup contenders.

He also grew up a Sabres fan, which he reminded us all of us yesterday in a tweet commemorating Rick Jeanneret.

Now that the Sabres have enough money to give Kane if he decided he wanted to come to Buffalo, we could see him finally suit up for his hometown team.
