The Detroit Red Wings have resigned one of their former first-round picks to a new deal.

Red Wings Sign Veleno

It was just announced that the Detroit Red Wings have resigned Joe Veleno to a one-year contract.

Veleno is a native on Montreal and was originally selected by the Red Wings 30th overall in the 2018 draft.

He is coming off a 9-goal 20-point campaign that saw him play in 81 games. He will look for better production next year with an elevated role in Detroit.
