Gary Bettman is once again under the spotlight for the bad reasons.

Bettman Loses Millions of Dollars
Allan Walsh, the renowned player agent, wrote on Twitter:
"The NHL is going into its 3rd year of its 7-year media rights deal with ESPN. Since that time, ESPN's subscriber base has fallen from 80 million to 45 million. Disney (parent company of ESPN) is now actively searching for a «strategic partner» for the network."
Because of a deal made by Bettman, the NHL potentially lost millions of viewers.
After Bally Sports' officially filed for bankruptcy, another hit to an NHL's viewership parnters could have big consequences.
"Also, Bally Sports just announced pending bankruptcy which will apparently affect 12 NHL teams. With Bally owning $55M in media rights, it's likely that this affects the salary cap.

Bettman's Mistakes
Bettman was named NHL commissioner in 1993 and since then, he generated a lot of money for the team owners.
Unfortunately for him, recently, it's been the opposite.
He made many bad decisions that shows he doesn't understand today's business world.
There are still four years left on the NHL's deal with ESPN and we really hope someone else will be in place to make a better decision when that happens.
