The Bruins have been an absolute wagon this year, which is astonishing considering they lost Patrice Bergeron and David Krecji. One player, however, hasn't quite fit.
Patrick Brown has been held pointless through his first five games as a Bruin, and now it appears the organization is going for a position change.
Brown Relegated to the Bruins' Third Defensive Pair
It's not unprecedented for a young player to change positions early in their careers - like Brent Burns. However, a 31-year-old shifting from forward to defense isn't very common at all.
For Patrick Brown, who is on a one-year deal with the Bruins, it appears he will break the rule and shift to the blue line.
The Bruins lines at practice were as such:
Marchand-Zacha-Pastrnak
Van Riemsdyk-Coyle-DeBrusk
Frederic-Poitras-Geekie
Heinen-Beecher-Steen
Grzelcyk-McAvoy
Lindholm-Carlo
Forbort/Brown-Shattenkirk
Ullmark
Swayman

Fans immediately noticed the outlier, and joked about it in the comments.

We'll see if this is the big break Patrick Brown needs. Is there a future Norris winner in the 31-year-old?
Do you think more players should switch from forward to defense?
