Roman Cechmanek was a draft pick of the Philadelphia Flyers in 2000. He suited up for 212 games from 2000 to 2004 with the Flyers and the LA Kings.
Cechmanek won the William M. Jennings with teammate Robert Esche in 2003. He also won a gold medal with the Czech Republic at the 1998 Olympics, although he served as backup to Dominik Hasek the entire tournament. He also won two gold medals at the World Hockey Championships. No cause of death has been given.
