Barrie is currently in the final year of his contract and could be used as a solid rental for many teams looking to compete in the playoffs.
What Barrie Brings To A Team
Barrie is mainly known as a powerplay specialist from the blueline. He has scored 25+ powerplay points in a season multiple times and even has a season with over 30 powerplay points.
While he may not be the best defensively, he is able to hold his own better than other powerplay specialists like John Klingberg or Tony DeAngelo. If a team is able to find a spot for Barrie on their top powerplay unit, he could prove to be invaluable in a deep playoff run.
