BREAKING: Matvei Michkov's Fate Confirmed After Russian Player Ban

Matvei Michkov's fate has been confirmed after a worrying development in Russia.

With Russia deciding to force young prospects to play for five seasons instead of three, as it was in the past, many hockey fans were worried that we wouldn't see prospect Matvei Michkov in the NHL for many years.

However, it's been confirmed that it won't change anything for Michkov, who had already signed a contract in the KHL before that rule was implemented.

He did sign a five year deal in the KHL in 2021, meaning he won't come in the NHL until 2026, but the so-called "ban on Russian players" only affects players who signed deals after the rule was implemented.
