Minnesota High School Announces Passing of 17-Year Old Hockey Player

It's never easy to report on the death of anyone, and it is especially difficult when someone is taken way too early. Yesterday, a Minnesota High School hockey team announced that Mikayla McCarvel has passed away at just 17-years old.

With heavy hearts and profound sadness we share that our teammate, Mikayla McCarvel, passed away last night. Please keep her family, friends, teammates, coaches and all that knew her in your prayers.

McCarvel, who had played in 42 games for the Minnesota High School's women's hockey team, passed away after a traumatic brain injury suffered during a car accident a few weeks ago.

McCarvel's family has asked that anyone who wishes to donate do so through a tree-planting donation in Mikayla's memory, which can be done on this website. Our thoughts are with McCarvel's family and loved ones during this trying time.
