In breaking news, we learned that Maple Leafs top defenseman Morgan Rielly filed an appeal on the League's decision to suspend him five games for his hit on Ottawa Senators' Ridley Greig.
Morgan Rielly Officially Files an Appeal For His Five-Game Suspension
Last Saturday, Greig scored a controversial goal in an empty net. Only a few feet from the net, he did a slap shot, which wasn't well received by Rielly, who jumped on him.
After an hearing, the NHL ruled that Rielly would be suspended five games.
A few minutes ago, it was confirmed that Rielly filed an appeal to Gary Bettman.
"Morgan Rielly will be filing an appeal to NHL commissioner Gary Bettman on his five-game suspension."
