Tonight reports are coming in that a player from the 2018 Canadian team that won the World Junior Championships has signed a new contract. Maxime Comtois has reportedly signed a one-year two-way contract with the Carolina Hurricanes.

Comtois was a part of the team that was surrounded by controversy over the post World Juniors scandal. However, there have been no allegations against Comtois and he has not been charged or connected to the events.
Comtois, a former second-round pick, will now likely report to the AHL and look to get his career back jump started.
