The Toronto Maple Leafs took down the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night, and while the stars came out to play, it was Ryan Reaves that took center stage. The veteran enforcer was a nuisance for Montreal all night long, and after he took down Michael Pezzetta in a fight, it was clear that he was all over the Canadiens.
Now however, a former enforcer has taken to social media to call out Reaves, in part claiming that he wouldn't be doing this if the popular Arber Xhekaj was in the lineup.
It is notable that all over social media, fans of both teams were talking about Xhekaj's absence in the lineup, and perhaps if he was there, Reaves wouldn't have the advantage. With a Stanley Cup drought of over 50 years, the Maple Leafs will look to break that in 2023-24, and while Reaves wreaked havoc with the Canadiens, we will now wait and see if he can do the same to the likes of Matt Rempe and Nick Cousins in the playoffs.
