Islanders lose JG Pageau minutes before game 1 against the Hurricanes

It was announced today that New York Islanders veteran forward JG Pageau will miss tonight's first playoff game against the Carolina Hurricanes.

Pageau is not taking warmup for NYI

Per head coach Patrick Roy, this was a game time decision, but it is still worrying for his state for the rest of this first round season against the Carolina Hurricanes.

Roy called Pageau a game-time decision earlier today. Pageau is obviously not playing in Game 1, but the fact that he isn't even taking warmups for the #Isles  is not a good sign for the rest of the series.

This comes a day after New York Islanders captain Anders Lee's wife gave birth to their first child.

Congrats to #Isles  Captain Anders Lee and his family on the birth of their first son. Wife Grace went into labor on Wednesday afternoon, which is why Lee was a late scratch against Pittsburgh.
