Paul Bissonnette goes after Mitch Marner for embarrassing performances
During the intermission of last night's Toronto Maple Leafs versus Boston Bruins game, Paul Bissonnette went in on Mitch Marner and his recent playoff performances.
Mitch Marner has been the scapegoat for the Leafs post-season struggles this year, as he has in the past. He is an easy target for disgruntled Leaf fans, as he is paid one of the highest salaries in the NHL yet seemingly disappears in the playoffs when games truly matter. This season has been no different, as Marner has just a goal and an assist through 4 games, and that goal came last night late in the game.
During intermission, Paul Bissonnette, a noted Leaf fan, decided enough was enough. He went in on Marner for his performance, even calling for him to be sat for the game.
Biz even went after Marner with a tweet, saying pretty much the same things, and calling for him to earn his ice instead of being given it.
It seemed like tempers were also flaring between players on the bench, as both William Nylander and Auston Matthews got into it with each other and Marner during the game.
Hopefully, Marner's late goal will spark him to play better moving forward, and the Leafs will be able to turn the series around on Tuesday in Boston.
