Connor McDavid shows the ultimate disrespect to Gary Bettman after game 7 loss
The Edmonton Oilers' Connor McDavid completed something incredible last night, winning the Conn Smythe trophy.
Unfortunately, it did not come with a Stanley Cup win for the Edmonton Oilers, as the Florida Panthers reigned victorious in one of the most intense game 7's in Stanley Cup playoff history.
While emotions were high, many are noticing one particular moment - Connor McDavid not coming out to collect the Conn Smythe trophy. Had this been tradition, it would be one thing, but JS Giguere, when he won in 2003, still came out in respect for Gary Bettman, the NHL, and the voting committee. Connor McDavid did not, and it is being seen as selfish and disrespectful.
McDavid was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy yet he declined to come outside and accept it due to overwhelming sadness and selfishness.
Connor has reportedly left the locker room early, visibly upset. Not a good look for the generational talent."
