Buffalo Sabres trade 9th overall pick Matthew Savoie in shocking trade

Today the Buffalo Sabres and Edmonton Oilers have made a wild trade sending Ryan McLeod to Buffalo for former top-10 pick Matt Savoie.

This afternoon reports are coming in that the Buffalo Sabres have acquired Ryan McLeod in a blockbuster trade sending top prospect Matt Savoie to the Edmonton Oilers.

As of now the trade is Ryan McLeod and forward prospect Ty Tullio for Matt Savoie.

Kevyn Adams and the Buffalo Sabres have been looking for help with their forward group for weeks now. According to Kevyn Adams the team was looking to trade for a top-six forward. Now Ryan McLeod comes in to fill that role.

For the Oilers Matt Savoie immediately becomes one of their top forward prospects in the organization. He returns out West where he played in the WHL. Matt Savoie will likely play in the AHL but get a taste of the NHL potentially as soon as this season with Edmonton.
