NHL agent Allan Walsh blames Gary Bettman for the passing of 14-year NHLer
Five years ago, longtime NHLer Greg Johnson passed away. He has now been posthumously diagnosed with CTE, and Gary Bettman may be to blame.
CTE has plagued the NHL for decades, as concussions are an incredibly common part of the game, and they are now known to cause horrible life changing effects. Players with CTE often exhibit signs of memory loss, or loss or the ability the function normally. In the case of Greg Johnson, he was driven by CTE to take his own life five years ago.
Former National Hockey League player Greg Johnson, who played 14 seasons in the league, has been posthumously diagnosed with chronic traumatic encephalopathy, or CTE, the brain-withering disease linked to repetitive brain trauma in contact sports.
Johnson's family and the Concussion Legacy Foundation disclosed the news Wednesday in a joint statement, five years after his passing.

Player agent Allan Walsh is a top critic of NHL commissioner Gary Bettman's treatment of concussions and CTE. Walsh has said shocking things about Bettman in the past, but has now gone as far to say he is responsible for the death of Greg Johnson.

This is just another player who has seen their life end due to CTE. Hopefully this will help Gary Bettman reconsider his stance. Rest in peace Greg Johnson.
