Frank Seravalli roasts the Ottawa Senators for Jakob Chychrun trade
The Ottawa Senators have made a great trade and a not so great trade this off-season, and Frank Seravalli has roasted them for the latter.
After yet another disappointing year where they fell short of expectations, the Ottawa Senators got the summer off to a great start when they landed Linus Ullmark of the Boston Bruins in what many believed to be a steal of a move.

Unfortunately, their next blockbuster trade didn't quite have the same effect, as the team shockingly moved defenseman Jakob Chychrun, failing to get back a first-round pick after moving a haul to land him less than two years ago.
NEWS | The Washington Capitals have acquired defenseman Jakob Chychrun from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for defenseman Nick Jensen and a 2026 third-round pick.
It was a bad move that's been highly criticized by many already, and now, NHL Insider Frank Seravalli has had his say, and even after many days to process the move, he still doesn't have an explanation for it.
"I thought that Jakob Chychrun trade was the move of the offseason," revealed Seravalli. "Someone is gonna need to explain that to me from an Ottawa perspective. I don't understand it at all and I've had a week to think about it and I still can't wrap my brain around it."
"A couple of years ago a first and two seconds, Nick Jensen?" said Seravalli. "I understand you're trading left shot for right shot and you're always gonna be at a disadvantage, but that's the best deal you could make for Jakob Chychrun? There's no way that's the best deal they could possibly make."
