Cristiano Ronaldo Furious With Ballon d'Or Selection of Rodri: Reveals His Pick for Winner
Soccer legend Cristiano Ronaldo made his feelings known recently when he found out who won the Ballon d'Or, and he was not a happy man while giving his take.
Cristiano Ronaldo believes Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior was an unjust omission from this year's men's Ballon d'Or award.
Speaking at the Globe Soccer Awards on Friday, Cristiano Ronaldo claimed that Vinicius Junior was better suited to receiving the award than Manchester City's Rodri.
Significantly, Vinicius along with his Real Madrid colleagues skipped the Ballon d'Or award ceremony organized by France Football magazine in Paris.
Despite that snub, Vinicius was awarded FIFA's Best Men's Player earlier this month and Globe Soccer's Best Men's Player on Friday.
In the women's category, Barcelona's Aitana Bonmati continued her award-winning streak as she picked up the Women's Player of the Year award.
The mercurial star Ronaldo, a five-time Ballon d'Or winner who was snubbed from the recent shortlist, lambasted France Football magazine on its way of selecting the winner.
Then he credited Globe Soccer after they had announced him as the Best Middle East Player of 2024.
Since leaving Manchester United back in January 2023 on a free transfer, Ronaldo has been able to achieve an astonishing return, which has seen him grab 74 goals in 83 matches, but also lambasted his old club of failing to solve those very deep-seated problems.
