Today, Columbus Blue Jackets fans honored Johnny Gaudreau again with a special moment dedicated to his son on his first birthday.

The Columbus Blue Jackets are back in action tonight following the Four Nations tournament break.

They are taking on the Chicago Blackhawks at home in Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.

But today is a special day for the Blue Jackets, and one specific family in particular.

Today is baby Johnny Gaudreau's first birthday. Johnny Jr. is the second of three children Johnny and Meredith Gaudreau have together.

Baby Johnny was in attendance at the game with his mother, and they were showcased on the jumbotron, noting that it was his birthday.

As a result, the entire crowd in the building started singing "happy birthday" to the young gun.

It is hard to believe that is has only been a few months since the hockey world lost the Gaudreau brothers as it feels like a lifetime has passed since that tragic day.

Johnny Gaudreau had 243 career goals and 743 points in 763 games played.

Most of those came with the Calgary Flames, but he bucked trends in the summer of 2022, choosing to sign with the Blue Jackets in free agency, instantly becoming a fan favorite in the city.

He recorded 33 goals and 134 points in 161 games with the Blue Jackets across two seasons before his untimely passing.

Both Johnny and his brother Matthew will forever be remembered by the hockey world and we continue to miss them dearly.

Rest in peace Johnny and Matthew, we know you are smiling down on us tonight as baby Johnny celebrates his big day.
