Connor Hellebuyck's name is suddenly the loudest one in Winnipeg, and the Jets didn't even make a move yet.
Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press wrote Saturday that he firmly believes Hellebuyck is getting traded. He put the odds north of 95 percent.
McIntyre added he doesn't know when, or to whom. That's the part that should worry Jets fans the most.
Hellebuyck carries a cap hit of $8,500,000, the fifth-highest number among goaltenders in the league right now.
Mike McIntyre: I firmly believe Connor Hellebuyck is going to be traded. In fact, I'd put the odds somewhere north of 95 per cent. I just don't know exactly when, or to whom.
This season he's posted a save percentage of .895 across 57 appearances, with 18 wins and zero shutouts.
The Jets have been anything but steady lately. Winnipeg dropped its last one 1-6 to San Jose and sits on a four-game losing streak.
At 35-35-12, Winnipeg's group is sitting at 82 points with a goal differential of -29. Hard numbers for a team that once looked like a contender.

So why would a franchise move a goaltender that talented? Think of it like selling a house at the peak of the market instead of waiting for the roof to leak.
Hellebuyck's stock is still high around the league even with a season that hasn't matched his usual standard.
Scott Arniel has been behind the Jets bench since May of 2024, and now he'd be the one steering a franchise through the fallout if this trade actually happens.
Winnipeg has gone 5-5-0 over its last 10 games. Not a collapse. Not a surge either. Just a team stuck in the middle while its franchise goalie's future gets debated in public.
McIntyre didn't name a destination, and that's the part that keeps this rumor alive instead of dead on arrival. No team, no return, no timeline.

Every front office chasing a top-tier goaltender is going to be watching this one. Winnipeg's silence on it says as much as McIntyre's report does.
Should the Jets trade Connor Hellebuyck this offseason?
