Quinn Hughes might not land with his brothers after all, and the Wild defenceman's name is now being tied to the Rangers.
David Pagnotta raised it on the DFO Insider. "We all assume playing with the brothers. What about playing near the brothers?"
Jeff Marek jumped in with the obvious follow-up: the Rangers? Pagnotta's answer said plenty. "What about playing across the river from the brothers?"
New Jersey has been the assumed landing spot, with Luke Hughes already a Devil on a $9,000,000 cap hit.
Manhattan gives the family proximity without sharing a dressing room. It's a fresh angle on a rumour most people thought was settled.
In the clip, Pagnotta tees it up with a question, Marek jumps in with the Rangers, and Pagnotta answers with the river line.

Chris Drury's Rangers could pair Quinn Hughes with Adam Fox
The production is elite from the back end. Between Vancouver and Minnesota last season, Hughes put up 76 points in 74 games.
He's 26, a left shot, and only two seasons removed from a 92-point year.
The Rangers already carry Adam Fox at $9,500,000. A Fox and Quinn pairing would hand Mike Sullivan the scariest puck-moving duo in the Metropolitan.
The Rangers should chase this hard. After opening with a 3-0 loss in Boston, a team built to win now can't pass on a defenceman of this calibre.
Living across the river from your brothers is like buying the house across the street from your parents. Close enough for Sunday dinner, far enough to keep your own rules.
Bill Guerin and John Hynes still have him in Minnesota for now. The Wild visit Nashville tonight while the rumour mill spins.
New Jersey remains the easy guess. But Pagnotta just gave Rangers fans a reason to watch the Hudson a little more closely.
Would Quinn Hughes be a better fit with the Rangers than the Devils?
