Evan Bouchard won it in overtime Tuesday night. The Oilers clip everyone is passing around this morning has nothing to do with him.

A video posted by YEGWAVE shows a knot of fans tangled up in a concourse during the game against the Minnesota Wild. Several of them are wearing Oilers colors.

The post had cleared 103K views by early Wednesday afternoon. Pathetic doesn't begin to cover it.

In the clip, a man in a blue vest reaches into the pile with both arms, trying to pull bodies apart while a fan in a navy No. 3 jersey plants himself in the middle.

Behind them, a woman in a teal toque gets swallowed up by the shoving.

Picture two groomsmen squaring off at the open bar. Same wedding, same tux, and somehow the other guy is the problem.

The hockey deserved better. Bouchard's power-play goal stood as the winner in a 4-3 overtime decision over Minnesota, the first meeting between the clubs this season.

Edmonton's home crowd faces a four-game test starting Thursday

Connor McDavid set up three goals, every one of them on the power play.

Leon Draisaitl? Two power-play goals of his own, which tells you exactly where this team did its damage.

Devon Levi held the crease with 27 saves on 30 shots to pick up the overtime win.

Now for the strange part. Edmonton sits 7-1-1 with a +14 goal differential, yet the Oilers are just 2-1-1 at home against a perfect 5-0-0 on the road.

So the team plays its best hockey away from its own building, and some of the people in that building spent Tuesday tangled up with each other. What is home ice supposed to mean here?

Mike Babcock, in his first season behind the Edmonton bench, has a group that's won eight of its last 10. His locker room doesn't need off-ice noise trailing it into a homestand.

The Carolina Hurricanes visit Thursday to open a four-game stretch at home, with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Detroit Red Wings and Calgary Flames to follow.

That Calgary date on October 28 is the Battle of Alberta. If a Wild game in October got people this worked up in the hallways, security should already be circling it.

Edmonton gave its fans an overtime winner Tuesday. Thursday's crowd gets the next chance to show it can handle one without becoming the story.
