The product of Switzerland joins fellow countrymen captain Nico Hischier and defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler on a young, promising New Jersey Devils team. New Jersey currently holds the NHL's 3rd-best record (39-15-5) and the 4th youngest roster with an average age of 26.29.
Drafted 9th overall in 2015 by the Sharks - Meier, 25 - slots in perfectly with the Devils contention window and provides a much needed dimension. His unique blend of size, skill, and intangibles provide the Devils with several threats on offense with a deep, balanced lineup.

Are the Devils true Stanley Cup contenders after this trade?
