The Anaheim Ducks have traded NCAA free agent holdout Henry Thrun to the San Jose Sharks for a 2024 3rd round pick.

Thrun informed the Ducks of his intentions to test free agency two weeks back, so instead GM Pat Verbeek lands a draft pick and hands the contract negotiations off to a divisional rival. Tidy work.
Anaheim has several highly touted defensive prospects - Jamie Drysdale, Olen Zellweger, Pavel Mintyukov - to name a few.
On the trade, Verbeek said: "While we are disappointed Henry chose to not sign with our club, we appreciate being notified of his intentions in advance of him becoming an Unrestricted Free Agent. We wish him the best of luck in his career." – GM Pat Verbeek
San Jose will need to come to terms with Thrun and his camp by July 1st, or he will become an unrestricted free agent. In 94 games for Harvard, Thrun has totaled 79 points.
