The Pittsburgh Penguins are bringing back a two-time Stanley Cup champion Nick Bonino in a three-team trade with the San Jose Sharks and Montreal Canadiens.

The move involved three trades, according to Curtis Pashelka:

- San Jose trades F Nick Bonino and a 2024 fifth-round pick to Montreal for the rights to D Arvid Henrikson.

- San Jose trades D Tony Sund to Pittsburgh in exchange for a conditional 2024 fifth-round pick and a 2023 seventh-round pick.

- Montreal trades F Nick Bonino to Pittsburgh in exchange for D Tony Sund. Montreal also retains 50% of Bonino's salary.

In 59 games this season, the 34-year-old Bonino has 19 points (ten goals, nine assists), 28 penalty minutes and is a minus-six.
