The Philadelphia Flyers have terminated GM Chuck Fletcher after 4+ years in the chair, per Olivia Reiner.
From me and @giana_jade: Chuck Fletcher is out as Flyers GM and president of hockey ops. Danny Brière has been named interim GM. The Flyers plan to permanently fill two separate roles of GM and president of hockey ops. @PhillyInquirer https://t.co/zucc5nsyB5— Olivia Reiner (@ReinerOlivia) March 10, 2023
Fletcher's time in Philly can best be described as one step forward, three steps back. The Flyers made the playoffs once under Fletcher (twice if you count the half-season during which he was hired in '17-18) and have a record of 141-145-43 record in that window.
Danny Briere is expected to fill the GM position on an interim basis while the club searches for a permanent fixture in both the GM and President of Hockey Ops positions.
Briere, who scored 283 points in 364 games as a Flyer, will be considered for the GM position and is expected to join the team in Pittsburgh on Saturday.

Danny Brière, who is holding the Flyers' interim GM role, will be considered for the full-time role as well as the president of hockey ops job. Not a surprise, as the organization has been investing in him for a while now. My story from last year:https://t.co/sqNuMtak0e— Olivia Reiner (@ReinerOlivia) March 10, 2023
Will Danny Briere make a good GM for the Flyers?
