With close to 1800 regular season NHL games under his belt as a coach, Paul Maurice has likely seen it all. Some recent details he revealed to a reporter fall somewhere between practical and cringy.

Ahead of tonight's potential elimination game for Maurice's Florida Panthers, the veteran bench boss was asked about strange player rituals he may have encountered over the years. Anyone who plays or follows hockey is aware of some pretty odd superstitions that some players have and some group activities they participate in. Maurice's example was one that may not be common to most.

"You walk in and your whole team's naked because they're taking off their underwear and putting on dry underwear. Like, that's kind of strange," said Maurice in his usual blunt manner.

Dry underwear is always a plus when it comes to being comfortable. I'm not sure many hockey players are this committed to cause, though.
