The Calgary Flames just announced that they will be retiring the number of a franchise-altering player.

Throughout Miikka Kiprusoff's 623-game NHL career, he played all but 47 games with the Calgary Flames.
For over a decade, he was the stabilizer of the Flames helping them to many wins over the course of his career.
With the Flames, he won a Jennings Trophy and a Vezina Trophy.
Today, it was announced that he would be having his number 34 retired by the Calgary Flames.

The retirement is set to happen on March 2nd of 2024. A fantastic way to honor the franchise legend.
