After trading Jeff Petry yesterday, the Canadiens GM looks like he has some more work to do.
The Canadien's Busy August
The Canadiens' offseason has kicked into high gear lately after being a part of two big trades.
First, the Canadiens were a third team involved in the Erik Karlsson deal.
-
Then yesterday, they shipped Jeff Petry, who they acquired in the Karlsson trade, to the Detroit Red Wings.
-
It does not seem like the deals are done as Canadiens GM Kent Hughes revealed what they may be doing next.
Hughes' Next Trade?
Canadiens reporter Renaud Lavoie revealed what Hughes is planning to do with goaltender Casey DeSmith
Kent Hughes told Casey DeSmith to be patient. He could be traded or he could make a transaction to allow him to play MTL. A file that will therefore evolve between now and the start of the season. -Renaud Lavoie
-
DeSmith was also part of the Karlsson trade and could be a solid backup in Montreal. Only time will tell if Hughes decides to move on from DeSmith if that is truly what DeSmith wants.
As seen on RDT - Kent Hughes confirms another trade to come
