Logan Mailloux has been part of the Montreal Canadiens organization since being drafted in the first round of the 2021 NHL Draft. Despite being drafted Mailloux has been unable to play with the Canadiens due to being deemed ineligible by the commissioner. Recently we got some major updates about Mailloux's status from Montreal Canadiens General Manager Kent Hughes.
Mailloux Meets With Commissioner Bettman

According to a report earlier this summer Logan Mailloux and Gary Bettman were scheduled to meet in July to discuss Mailloux's progress. After this report, another source said that the meeting would only take place if the Montreal Canadiens request it.
According to General Manager Kent Hughes, the meeting between Mailloux and Bettman has indeed taken place. This confirms a couple of things that many had been wondering about.
What We Learned From This Update
First Mailloux has made progressed to another step in being made eligible again by meeting with the Commissioner.
Secondly, if the Montreal Canadiens requested the meeting this likely means they see him playing for the team in the near future.
While the meeting has led to talks between all sides there still has been no ruling by the Commissioner. Until a ruling is made Mailloux will not be allowed to represent the Canadiens.
This will be a storyline to follow in the coming weeks as both Mailloux and the Canadiens make preparations for the upcoming season.
