The tension between the Blackhawks management and their all-star, Seth Jones, are starting to rise.
The Jones' In Chicago
Last year, the Chicago Blackhawks had a pair of brothers on their blueline: Seth and Caleb Jones. Seth was the Blackhawks all-star last year and is quite a strong blueliner.
Seth Jones averaged over 24 minutes of ice time a night with the Blackhawks and was far and away their best defenseman. His brother Caleb averaged a modest 19:13 minutes a night but was still quite solid according to advanced analytics.

Tensions Rising In Chicago

In a recent interview, Seth Jones commented on his brother leaving.
«[Caleb has] a real chance at playoff hockey, which is something everyone wants.»
He is upset that Chicago is not competitive yet and as their only established star, he has all the right to be.
He also said how the Blackhawks GM, Kyle Davidson, did not consult him on letting his brother leave.
"[We] had some good chemistry last year, and Chicago just wanted to go a different way... After the fact, Kyle called me, but not before. But I'm trying to control what I can control."
Jones acknowledges it was not in his control but many teams do what they can do to keep their stars happy and with Caleb Jones being a solid defenseman, he definitely deserved a shot.
Now the two will head their different ways and Caleb will compete for a cup in Carolina while Seth will hope to ensure the Blackhawks don't finish last next year.
