The NHL offseason is winding down. This means each team is making final additions to their team. As part of this a veteran defenseman has found a home in a familiar place.
Benn & Benn Reunite In Dallas
Jordie Benn was signed today to a PTO (Player Tryout) in Dallas.
The veteran defenseman most recently played in the Toronto Maple Leafs organization last season. He also had a long stint in the Stars organization from 2010 to 2017.
Benn will bring a veteran presence and physicality to the Dallas defense. While his roster spot is not guaranteed he fills a need within the Dallas lineup that gives him a good shot at finding a place for himself.
If he doesn't end up making the team in Dallas he could potentially find his way on the AHL's Texas Stars and be good depth for the organization if injuries or poor play begin to mount.
