The Tampa Bay Lightning have faced a turbulent preseason. They lost superstar goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy and have been trying to fill that hole ever since.
Today they have reportedly made the decision to sign a forward to try and help the offense while they continue looking for goaltending help.

Watson played the preseason in Tampa Bay on a PTO and has now earned a deal. He comes over from Ottawa where last season he played 75 games and had 11 points and 123 penalty minutes.
Watson will bring a much-needed physical presence to the bottom half of the Lightning lineup.
After signing Watson all hands on deck will be back to looking at a permanent solution at the goalie position. Jonas Johansson has looked good in preseason action. The Lightning are still expected to acquire another goalie to provide competition and stability behind Johansson before the start of the regular season.
Will Austin Watson be an impact player for the Tampa Bay Lightning?
