The Seattle Kraken took a major step forward in their second season last year, but now, they've started poorly in 2023-24, with a 1-4-1 record through their first six games.

A major injury blow

Unfortunately, things are now getting worse, as star winger Andre Burakovsky has now been ruled out for the next 6-8 weeks, meaning he will miss all but the rest of 2023.

In 49 games in his first season with the Kraken a year ago, Burakovsky added 13 goals and 39 points, becoming a key piece of this deep offensive group, but with their struggles and his absence now upcoming, this could be a team that struggles in a tough Pacific Division.

Ultimately, Seattle have the depth needed to bounce back and make a playoff run in 2023-24, but without Burakovsky, they'll be down an elite goal scorer as they look to climb back into the race.
