Tonight during the Buffalo Sabres game fans and media noticed a massive star now wearing neck protection. Rasmus Dahlin has joined many other players in wearing a neck-guard after the Adam Johnson tragedy.

Dahlin is the biggest star to this point to wear a neck-guard in response to the tragedy. As more teams play games in the coming days we will have to see if it becomes a trend.
Mandatory Neck-Guards
The WHL announced earlier today that they would be mandating neck-guards starting on Friday for all teams.
The WHL announced today the adoption of mandatory neck guard protection for all players, effective Friday, November 3.

The NHL cannot officially mandate players to wear neck-guards due to the CBA. They can strongly recommend it though. During the upcoming offseason there will likely be a rule put in place to mandate the use of neck-guards in the NHL as well as most other leagues in the world.
