The New York Rangers have lost one of their depth defensemen for the rest of the season following a brutal pectoral injury.

Harpur To Miss The Rest Of The Season

It has just been announced that Ben Harpur, a depth defenseman for the Rangers who was playing in the AHL earlier this season, will miss the rest of the season after getting pectoral surgery.

A couple Hartford notes:

- Ben Harpur is out for the season due to pectoral surgery. A hit the #NYR D depth.

- RD Mac Hollowell has been out with an injury, but coach Steve Smith is hopeful he'll be back this week. He practiced today.

Harpur, 28, has played in parts of 7 seasons in the NHL and has amassed 198 total games. In 2022-23 he played in 42 games with the Rangers. He has yet to play an NHL game this season and this season-ending surgery confirms he will not play one at all.

This is a noticeable loss for the Rangers and we wish Harpur the best on his road to recovery.
