The Boston Bruins 2023-24 season has been fantastic thus far, and recently, reports have emerged that reveal a potential return could be on the way.

Patrice Bergeron to come out of retirement?

Despite retiring this past summer after a stellar 19-year career in Boston, rumours have already emerged that the former captain is getting in shape for a return.

Those rumours took the internet by storm on Wednesday, and now, a Boston Bruins writer has been in contact with the veteran star, and his answer was an emphatic one.

Bergeron denies reports of a potential return

Unfortunately for Bruins fans that wanted to see him back on the ice, his response wasn't a good one.

In case anyone wanted to know, I asked Patrice Bergeron about his «comeback». Via text, he responded «I am NOT making a comeback.» His emphasis on the «NOT.» Carry on.

At 38-years old, there's just nothing left in the NHL that Bergeron wants to accomplish, and even after a solid 58 points a season ago, it's clear now that he's done with his on-ice career, and will instead focus on the game of hockey in a different role going forward.
