The entire sporting world was watching on Friday night as Jake Paul fought former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson, but at 58-years of age, it was always going to be a tough matchup for the veteran.
Unfortunately for those that did tune in, the fight was quite a boring one with very little action, but if things had gone a little differently, perhaps we would have been seeing a very different matchup.
During this fight, someone uncovered a 2020 Tweet of Edmonton Oilers star forward Evander Kane, in which he challenged the then up-and-coming Paul to a fight, naming both a time and a place.
While Kane has definitely been in his fair share of fights on the ice, quite successfully too, there's a major difference between that and standing off across the ring from someone, with months of hype and training to go behind it as well.
As fans in the comments of that post revealed, Kane has been quite successful on the ice however, and at the very least, he's not 58-years of age, so it could have been quite the intriguing night.
The one advantage that Kane may have had was that he's used to getting punched in the face by much tougher men with no gloves involved, but unfortunately, that time has now long passed.
In the comments of that Instagram post, Kane hilarious chirped Paul once again, although the fight has no chance of actually happening at this point in time (nor did it ever).
Ultimately, given how many tough guys there are in hockey, it's surprising that so few have ever pursued a career in boxing after their days were over, but with hockey being their true passion, it makes sense after all.
