Brad Marchand Traded by the Boston Bruins? Top NHL Insider Lists Him as a Possible Player to Move
NHL insider Chris Johnston recently stated that there is a good possibility the Bruins place Brad Marchand on the trade block with the team's continuous struggles.
NHL insider Chris Johnston has revealed his newest trade board for 'The Athletic', and there are a couple of prominent Boston Bruins featured on it.
Included is pending unrestricted free agent Trent Frederic, who came in at No. 11.
Of course, the bigger surprise comes with Bruins captain Brad Marchand ranking even higher at No. 10.
Addressing Marchand's inclusion, Johnston highlighted some key factors: the veteran winger is in the final year of his contract and has a limited no-trade clause that restricts moves to eight teams.

If Boston finds itself out of playoff contention as the trade deadline approaches and no contract extension is in place, Marchand could become a prime target for other teams.
Still, a Marchand deal would appear to be a remote possibility.
A cornerstone type player in Beantown, his value goes well beyond the scoresheet.
A trade would mark a major turning of the page in Boston.
This season, Marchand has played in 21 games with five goals and 14 points with a minus-3 rating.
His stats and leadership are crucial to the identity of the Bruins, which makes any trade speculation interesting but definitely far from certain.
