The Canucks have failed to move J.T. Miller thus far, and with the offers not substantial enough, they could once again pivot to moving Elias Pettersson.

Over the past week, the Vancouver Canucks have been close to moving J.T. Miller, but as of yet, it appears they've not yet got an offer that's blown them away.

Given how desperate they are to make a change, it's become clear that the team may need to pivot, and now, according to reporter Cam Robinson, they may look to re-engage teams in trade talks with Elias Pettersson as a result of a lack of significant offers on Miller.

Don't be surprised to hear the Elias Pettersson trade talk ramp back up. Vancouver is unhappy with the offers for Miller, and it'll be a lot easier to recoup value in a Pettersson deal.

On top of that, a Pettersson trade could net them a substantially bigger return given his age and potential, but with the way Miller has been criticized by the Vancouver fans and media over the past few weeks, it's safe to say that it's certainly not the ideal move.

Pettersson is five years younger and many believe has a much higher ceiling than Miller, so while they could likely net a combination of futures and NHL ready assets, it's a move that wouldn't be made lightly by General Manager Patrik Allvin.

Ultimately, one way or another, the Canucks are going to shake things up in the very near future, and while Miller to New York is still the expected play in the coming weeks, if they don't get an offer substantial enough, don't be shocked to see the team listen to offers on Pettersson, who hasn't been at his best in 2024/25 either.
