Sidney Crosby has been linked to several teams in recent trade rumours, but now he's made it abundantly clear that he has no desires of leaving Pittsburgh.

This past off-season, Sidney Crosby signed a two-year contract extension with the Pittsburgh Penguins, but with the team on pace to miss the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the second straight season, they've been called upon to trade their legendary captain.

That noise has only intensified in recent times as the Colorado Avalanche cleared cap space for another potential addition by trading Mikko Rantanen, with speculation they could be trying to unite Nova Scotia natives in Denver.

Now however, because of that, No. 87 has finally addressed his future, and to no one's surprise, he's making it clear that he is in Pittsburgh to stay for the remainder of his career.

«I'm going to always be here. I just signed a new contract to be here. I've been very upfront about it - I'm a Pittsburgh Penguin.»

Sure, it would be fun to see him in Colorado, Montreal, Toronto or any contending team in 2024/25, but at 37-years of age, all he's known is the Pittsburgh Penguins, and it's clear that he wants it to remain that way.

Over his iconic career, Crosby has tallied 606 goals and 1,648 points in 1,323 career games, winning three Stanley Cup's as the captain of one of the NHL's most iconic franchises, so while many would understand if he wanted out, especially given his relatively cheap contract, he's committed to the team, one way or another.

Ultimately, this should put the speculation to bed once and for all, so even though there may be interest, for now, it's safe to say that No. 87 will retire a one-team player, and arguably the greatest Penguin in NHL history.
