The Chicago Blackhawks recently re-acquired their third-round pick as part of the Mikko Rantanen blockbuster deal, which they could use for offer sheets.

Will this offseason be one in which the Chicago Blackhawks make a splash in free agency?

GM Kyle Davidson can go big with Mikko Rantanen and Mitch Marner, with secondary options possibly including Nikolaj Ehlers, Brock Boeser, and Brock Nelson.

Not ideal for their timeline, but in a position to become free, Brad Marchand and John Tavares could become free agents, and targets, too.

The Blackhawks desperately desire to surround Connor Bedard with talent in and out of uniform, but getting top talent won't be cheap, or easy. Rantanen and Marner could command deals similar to Leon Draisaitl's eight years, $112 million ($14M AAV).

Philipp Kurashev's future is in limbo, and buyouts for T.J. Brodie and Laurent Brossoit could free salary room. Dumping Seth Jones and his $9.5M salary cap hit is a long shot, but not out of the question.

Wyatt Johnston, Marco Rossi and Matthew Knies could be offer sheet targets

The Blackhawks can try offering sheets for emerging talents such as Wyatt Johnston (Dallas), Marco Rossi (Minnesota), and Matthew Knies (Toronto), per The Athletic.

The Blackhawks did receive their third-round pick back in the Rantanen trade, which could be used for said offer sheets.

The Blackhawks traded Taylor Hall for this third-round selection that they got back, but they did not receive anything else, and Hall had to sign off on the deal sending him to Carolina, with him having a no-trade clause.
