The Montreal Canadiens appear to have lost Kaiden Guhle for the season, and now we know exactly what happened during his gruesome incident on the ice, with the young blue liner going through a tough time as a result.

The Montreal Canadiens have been playing fantastic hockey this season, but on the injury front they've been highly unlucky as of late, with Emil Heinemen recently struck by a car in Salt Lake City.

Things have gotten worse unfortunately, as the team have now all but confirmed defenseman Kaiden Guhle will be out for the remainder of the 2024/25 campaign after suffering a devastating injury on the ice.

In their official announcement, the Canadiens noted that he suffered a 'lacerated quadricep muscle' when he went down awkwardly on the ice, and now Canadiens insider Tony Marinaro has the full details on the excruciating situation.

«Kaiden Guhle was cut, a very nasty cut. He was bleeding a lot. Guhle's foot was blue and he was screaming in pain. He had a tourniquet on his thigh to stop the bleeding. There was blood all over the stretcherDone for the year.»

That is unfortunately one of the many risks of playing hockey, as skates can often cause injury when colliding with other players, but so rarely does it happen when one falls down and cuts themselves.

While it sounds like a brutal injury, Guhle will make a full recovery and will be back on the ice in time for the team's push for a Stanley Cup Playoffs spot in 2025/26, and if he can continue his improvement and the team adds talent around them, this could be a key piece of the future for the Montreal Canadiens.
